Lemonade remade
OLD-FASHIONED LEMONADE
Serves 6
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Juice from 6 lemons
4 more cups cold water
Combine sugar and one cup of water in a saucepan to make simple syrup. Bring it to a boil, stirring often, until sugar dissolves thoroughly. Let cool and refrigerate. Add juice from 6 lemons to simple syrup and mix well. Stir in remaining water. Serve over ice.
GINGERADE
Add to the classic recipe:
1 3-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated
1/4 cup honey
Splash of ginger ale
Serve over crushed ginger and garnish with sliced ginger or crystallized ginger on top of the ice.
