Think about it: Is there an easier, more effective and affordable way to add depth, light and a dose of drama to a room than by adding a mirror? Nope. Mirrors do it all. Need proof for yourself? Turn the pages to discover 23 ways mirrors have been used to transform
interior spaces. You’ll discover, as we did, that every room benefits from a little self-reflection.
1. Double Your Display
A single lamp becomes two, three candlesticks turn to six and a sparse floral display magically appears lush. Simply by positioning a mirror behind a display, you’ll visually multiply its elements and their decorative impact. Take care to limit the number of accessories so light can flow through and around them.
2. Create a Doorway
Give the illusion of a doorway by positioning an oversized mirror on a wall. Suspend or stand it at floor level, and ensure that nothing fully obstructs the mirror, enabling it to resemble an open passageway.
3. Make It Big
Increase the visual size and importance of a piece of furniture by positioning a large, framed mirror behind it. This trick is particularly effective when working with small furnishings including chests and undersized nightstands.

4. Add Dimension to Flat Walls
Punctuate plain walls with a series of simply framed mirrors to create the illusion of openings. To create the look of windows, position mirrors opposite a light source to ensure that their reflections mimic light emanating from real windows.
