Woods of Parley’s Canyon Photo Shoot
by Brad Mee

Mountain homes can attract a lot of attention…and not always the good kind. But this home at the summit of Parley’s Canyon is filled with great design details that suit the setting without being big and bullying. While photographing the home for the upcoming fall issue, we snapped a few shots of some of the many tasty elements designers Sue Harman and Jason Wilde of Harman-Wilde Design peppered throughout the interior. This duo knows their stuff. Check out the entire home feature in the upcoming issue of Utah Style & Design.

Managing Editor Tessa Woolf and photographer Scot Zimmerman shooting the home’s exterior.

Paneling and clean-lined beam details transform a simple entry hall into statement making foyer.

Wilde filled a tray with rocks and used it to stylishly contain and display everyday bathroom accessories that are typically scatted across vanities.

A wooden trough serves as a rustic container for fall florals.

Large, industrial-style fixtures add an unexpected detail to the home’s kitchen. A great break from the so-yesterday series of small, undersized glass pendants often seen suspended over large breakfast bars.

Why have one big island-sized coffee table when a group of easily moved pieces add so much style? Harman & Wilde had these custom-designed for the space.

An inlaid-stone “rug” helps define the entry’s space.
