TRANSCENDENCE by Lisa Orr
Artist Reception - Thursday, September 1, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
The City Library, Anderson-Foothill Branch
Downstairs Level
1135 South 2100 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84108
(801) 594-8611
The City Library, Anderson-Foothill Branch is pleased to introduce Lisa Orr’s Transcendence Series - her debut show and first solo exhibition. It consists of a series of 15 abstract paintings and will run from August 20 - October 1.
Orr explores many different emotions, documenting where the mind and heart have been and where there is potential to go. Looking at the series as a whole reveals a process of the human spirit moving towards resolution through many different states of being: meditative, complex, dark, empty, abundance, searching, stagnating, layering of time, confrontation and revelation. The paintings can be very direct, or vague and elusive, allowing room for exploration. They are tools to spark awareness, recognition, growth, and understanding.
Join us for a reception on Thursday, September 1, 7:00 - 8:30 pm, downstairs level, Anderson-Foothill Branch
