There’s something so special about fall.

From the crisp air and the autumnal hues that frame the mountains to cozy knits, warm ciders, and scenic drives — fall is a time to honor the summer that’s past and prepare for the winter that’s ahead.

Editor Giuseppa Nadrowski and Editor in Chief Avrey Evans

For those of us at Utah Style & Design, this fall, especially, is one to celebrate. We recently began accepting submissions for the magazine’s first-ever Utah Design Awards, a new annual program that will recognize and showcase the incredible work of our local interior designers, architects, builders, landscapers, and more. To commemorate this historic moment, we held a kickoff party at Curate to the Trade, our region’s top source for all things design. Our team got the chance to speak one-on-one with local industry professionals about the importance of this program in highlighting the exceptional talent that makes up this remarkable community.

Another reason to celebrate? Personally, it’s my first issue as editor of the magazine — and it’s also the first for my colleague, Avrey Evans, as our editor-in-chief. It’s been such an incredible experience meeting and chatting with the designers who make up our first issue together. Avrey said it best: “We’ve woven together an issue that not only celebrates all things autumn, but also introduces our readers to what’s new and what’s next in the place they call home.”

I couldn’t agree more. From the bold to the traditional, and from Alpine to St. George, each home we’ve featured recognizes, as Avrey says, “the breadth of easy fall living.” She adds, “There’s so much to love within these pages, from hotel remodels that might inspire you to take a week off and escape down south, to brand-new design showrooms in the heart of the city.”

So, from Avrey and me, we hope these pages encourage you to savor this gorgeous season in style.
